A standard set has 28 tiles, with each tile featuring two numbers from 0 to 6.

Turn the tiles face down and mix them up.

Each player draws a certain number of tiles, depending on the number of players. For two or three players, each player draws seven tiles. For four players, each player draws five tiles.

The player with the highest double tile (a tile with the same number on both ends) starts the game by placing the tile in the center of the playing area.

The next player must place a tile that matches one end of the tile already played. If they cannot play a tile, they must draw a tile from the remaining tiles in the pile and try again.

The game continues in a similar way, with players taking turns to place tiles that match the end of the chain. If a player cannot play a tile, they must pass their turn.

The game ends when one player has played all of their tiles or when no more moves are possible. The player with the fewest points in their remaining tiles is the winner.

In the case of a tie, the player with the highest double tile wins. If there is still a tie, the players play another round to determine the winner.

In most sets of dominoes, there is a blank tile that does not have any pips on either end. This tile can be used as a “wild card” that can be played with any tile, and it takes on the value of the other end of the tile it is played with.

For example, if the blank tile is played next to a tile with a 6 on one end and a 2 on the other, it can be used as either a 6 or a 2, depending on which end it is connected to. This can be helpful when a player is unable to make a legal move with their tiles, as the blank tile can be used to create a match.

Some variations of dominoes use two blank tiles instead of one, and some sets even include multiple blank tiles. The use of blank tiles as wild cards can add an extra layer of strategy to the game, as players must decide when to use them and which value to assign to them.

These are the basic rules of dominoes, but there are many variations to the game, including different scoring systems and special rules for certain tiles.

Shop For Dominoes on Amazon

Dominoes is a game played with rectangular tiles called dominoes.
